War is War

Hello friends,

The news doesn’t end, does it?

Covid. Climate disaster. Economic collapse. Trans children threatened. Violence. War…

And here we all are, simply trying to live our lives, love whom we can, and create pockets of safety and warmth where we are. We cook meals. Care for animals and children. Shovel snow in some places, and marvel at flowers in others.

Because writing helps me, this week for Patreon, I had planned to send out a work in progress, but instead, I wrote a poem. For those of you who use screen readers, I’ll leave the full text in a comment.

Sending love to every trans kid and parent of a trans kid in Texas and Alabama.

Sending out love to everyone facing the devastating effects of war: in Ukraine, Yemen, Somalia, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, Colombia, Libya, and everyplace else that people are just trying to live.
