On Listening

Hello friends,

I’m at the Between the Worlds/Sacred Space joint conference in Maryland. I’ve taught here many times before and it was long my favorite conference to attend and learn from, too. I had thought I would never return. My days of traveling outside my timezone are over—not only did I burn out years ago, air travel is now actively unpleasant. Plus, there’s the climate crisis to think of, and Covid—and I don’t really teach in person anymore.

But something called me here nonetheless.

I had told the organizers I was not coming. I was not on the roster. Then in September, I got a strong internal call to offer a specific piece of magic. The organizers graciously agreed that it felt important, and here I am. I’ll likely write more about my experiences after I get home.

But today, I leave you with these questions:

Where do you find magic? What spaces are you willing to revisit? How do you listen for the inner call?
