Magic Magic

everywhere

keep breathing dandelion

Hello friends,

Where do you find your sense of magic? What connects you to the feeling you may have had when you were a small child, before imagination became a limited commodity? What connects you to the feeling you may have had when gazing at a breathtaking landscape, or hearing a moving piece of music for the first time?

I cultivate my sense of magic through creativity, but mostly? I cultivate a sense of magic through simple acts of presence. A pause. A breath.

Magic is there when we notice it.

a wooden faery house with a curved door and round windows, attached to a big tree trunk.

Now, there are phases of life, or truly difficult—even harrowing—situations where it becomes really hard to find magic. I don't want to deny that. And that makes the times that feel more ordinary all the more important.

When we can find magic in the ordinary, we can carry that inside us when times are truly hard. To invoke a sense of magic is to invoke hope.

We need to remember that if we are going to help each other both survive and thrive. This earth is filled with ordinary magic. My favorite stories are rooted in that sense of wonder.

What helps you remember there is magic in the world? What reminds you to open your heart and mind to wonder?

Wishing you well today, and every day.
