Just One Moment

can change our lives

Hello friends,

Lately, I’m thinking of how easy it is to get caught up in our lives. We focus down on what needs to be done, how busy we are, how lonely we are. We spin out on money and health worries, family worries, climate and collapse. We scroll endlessly, hoping for input to stimulate our dopamine response, seeking something to take us away. But all we do is loop and loop, endlessly, sunrise to sleep. If we sleep.

We forget to look up. We forget to listen. We forget to breathe deeply and just be.

Whether we have five minutes or fifteen, can we pause? Can we set down our worries and our phones? Can we close our eyes and listen? Can we look up and out at what is waiting there?

I can guarantee that when we do so, a moment will arrive that we did not—could not—expect. And that moment will change our lives.

Change doesn’t have to be grand or earth shaking. All change needs is for us to be present for the space of one deep breath.

Wishing you the will and to seek out more of these spacious moments.
